Thinking of buying a new home AND protecting the planet? Here's what you can do ...
If you don't want your home to lose value, and your energy bills to skyrocket: 1. Ask the show home sales person what renewable energy measures are installed as standard to future proof the property? (eg solar panels, electric vehicle charge points, heat pumps, community energy generation, cycle paths, public transport etc.) 2. Refer to their sustainability statement on their website and see if it matches what the sales person says. 3. If these features are not available, you can tell them you are not going to buy from them and why. 4. If you cannot find a home with the features you need in your required area, write and complain to the Head of the local Council and/or the local MP, that the climate emergency is being completely ignored.
